Working with leather since 2021.
I first tried leather craft in December 2021, I quickly found a passion for it and began buying tools and leather to try out new techniques as I discovered them.
Eventually, to fund my increasingly expensive tools, I started selling what I made to friends and family. There were definitely a few things I sold to my family which were at best barely useable; I am very grateful to everyone who brought them anyway to allow me to keep going.
Inspired by traditional techniques.
As I learned more, the pieces I was making became higher quality and more people were making orders. In 2024 I began making bible cases which were far bigger than anything I had made previously, in the following year, I made many cases which gave me the skills to tackle my first handbag in 2025.
By September 2025, I had started experimenting with lining bags and decided to create the Scott Jonathan brand so I could show my pieces online. Over the autumn, I began posting on instagram, attending local markets and developing my brand image.
Passionate for durable design.
In early 2026 as the gift giving season ended, I decided I wanted to create a collection of items which people could use as a start point for their bespoke orders. Eventually, that led to the
Autumn Winter 2026 Collection.
